Impact of WOBA on gender and social inclusion for communities in Viet Nam’s remote mountainous districts
This report presents and discusses the results of a study on the impact of WOBA for gender and social inclusion (GSI) in WOBA’s remote mountainous districts. The study involved a survey of 602 households (WOBA and non WOBA), and in-depth interviews with 60 selected survey respondents and their heads of village. Guided by a framework of multidimensional GSI (political, socio-cultural, economic, and physical), the study provides insights into the extent to which WOBA has impacted GSI at the household, community, and institutional level. It offers implications for policies and practices in GSI in WASH programs in remote mountainous areas generally and in Vietnam particularly.
